The Future of Immigration Law and How it Will Affect the Real Estate Industry

Why take this course?

The Lehigh Valley is home to tens of thousands of immigrants, foreign investors, international corporations and their global talent, and the global reach of the Lehigh Valley’s real estate is growing exponentially.

Since the current Administration in the White House has increased immigration compliance enforcement, there is a growing uncertainty in regard to the future of immigration law. This uncertainty is affecting the real estate industry.

Given the Lehigh Valley’s already significant immigrant population and its exponential growth in foreign direct investments, the region's Realtors® are met each day with questions and concerns about temporary international corporate employees, undocumented individuals, visa overstays, corporate expats, new immigrant arrivals, international students, temporary international visitors, and global real estate investors.

This seminar is presented by Raymond G. Lahoud of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A. He chairs the Firm’s Immigration Practice Group and will explain the most common mistakes and misconceptions involving transactions with non-Citizens; rights and responsibilities in these transactions; mortgage financing and its alternatives; protecting against nationality discrimination claims; and an understanding of working with the foreign real estate investor from the first call to after-transaction tax implications.
