Feel more comfortable taking online classes during the global COVID-19 pandemic? It’s doable, at least for the next six months.

Gov. Tom Wolf has signed into law legislation that extends hundreds of regulatory waivers and suspensions made to bolster the state’s response to COVID-19 after the measure passed with unanimous support in the legislature.

The new law temporarily extends nearly 500 regulatory waivers made by state agencies throughout the pandemic, keeping them in place through March 2022. One of these waivers includes allowing real estate education to be offered via livestream.

There is active legislation to make real estate education via livestream a permanent option. As more information becomes available, staff with the Greater Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy will provide updates. Should you have any questions about the legislation in its current state, you can direct them to Matthew Marks, Director of Government Affairs for the Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS®, at Matthew@GLVR.org.

The Greater Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy, as staff plans its continuing education offerings into 2022, will be offering both livestream and in-person offerings. As always, our students can also check out our partners at The CE Shop and Mbition Learn Real Estate, both of which provide high quality online pre-licensing, post-licensing and continuing education courses.

For those who prefer in-person learning, our in-person classes in Bethlehem, Pa., are currently capped at 25 students per class to ensure proper social distancing and overall safety of students.
