CE Credits: 3.5 TuesdayOctober 3, 20239:00 am - 12:30 pm
10 S Commerce Way Bethlehem PA, 18017-8915

Why take this Course?

What exactly is agency? What can and can’t an agent do on behalf of a client? How is agency established? How do single, dual, sub and designated agency differ? How are brokers involved in the concept of agency, both to the client and to the salesperson working for them?

Realtors need to understand all of these concepts to ensure they legally and ethically provide the best possible service to their clients – and that clients understand what to expect over the course of representation. In this course, these concepts will be explained, along with why PA passed a law covering these relationships. Agency creation, termination, and common causes of lawsuits based on agency principles will be reviewed, as well as a discussion of the forms and documents Realtors can use to ensure their relationship is a successful one.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the course, students will:

  • Understand and be able to explain the differences in the various types of agency.
  • Identify areas of liability for agents and how to avoid issues.
  • Understand the duties of both the broker and salesperson to the client under agency laws.
  • Know which forms and documents can help ensure a successful agency relationship.
